How do I create product categories?

Use our step-by-step guide

1. Go to Products > Produkt categories:
   
   
2. Click the button "Create product category":
   
   
3. Fill in the fields on the page:
   
   
4. Save your changes:
   
   
5. Go to Products > All to edit an existing product or create a new one:
   
   
6. Click the button"Categories" and add the desired category (Press and hold the ALT key on your keyboard and click to add more categories):
   
   
7. Save your changes:
   
   

Note: A product must be associated with at least one product category. The visibility of the product's main category (shown in orange) also determines the visibility of the product. Also note that your product category names are important for the search engine optimization of your shop, as they are part of your product links.

HINT: If you plan to create thousands of product categories, we instead recommend that you use a combination of Product fields and our Product filter app- This combination makes it easier for the customer to find your products quickly. With this approach, you can have a manageable number of product categories and instead expand your product specifications with product fields.
